Return to Dundee Falls

Saturday morning I headed out to the Dundee Falls area to see what the falls looked like after all the rain we've had in the area lately.  I attempted to get to the falls on the southern end of the area first, but the path was muddy.  Really muddy.  Sinking in the mud muddy.  So, I got back into the car and headed to the falls on the north side of the area.  Luckily, those were pretty accessible without sinking.
I really love this area and it's untamed nature.  However, I really hate the fact that the area seems to be a haven for beer drinking and graffiti.  Would love to see the state get in there, put in some good trails and clean up the area.  But, that's just me.
I wanted to continue trying to play with HDR techniques with the photos.  I really enjoyed the outcome of these.

Live music is always a good thing.

Saturday night was spent in Akron at our friends restaurant, The Stew Pot Kitchen.  Every first Saturday of the month, Akron hosts the Akron Art Walk and to celebrate that, the restaurant hosts Akron based singer/songwriter Rachel Roberts.  It's always a great time to sit back and listen to her acoustic set.  It you haven't heard her before, look her up online.  She really is a great artist.  I really enjoy these pictures because the sun was setting and reflecting off of the grill in the corner giving her some great light.

The weekend that Zoar went to the dogs.

This weekend Zoar hosted the first annual Dog Fest.  Normally, the town hosts historic or antique events, but this weekend was a great new attraction that adds to the town unique character.  The stars of the weekend were the dock dogs.  A competition held to see how far a dog can launch themselves into a pool of water to retrieve their toys.  So much fun to watch.  Even took our beagle Buddy down to watch the activities and he had a blast making new friends.
Well done, Zoar!  Can't wait until next years event!

Hey Kids, Comics!

This weekend started out with a blast! Took the family up to the west side of Cleveland to a really cool event at Carol & John's Comic Shop.  I was first introduced to the shop last year by my friend and have been wanting to go back.  The stores Free Comic Book day midnight event last Friday night was a great opportunity to watch some artists draw, check out some excellent cos-player and pick up some new comics!
