Swiss in Sugarcreek

This weekend in Sugarcreek, OH, the town is hosting it's annual Ohio Swiss Festival.  "The Little Switzerland of Ohio", located on the western end of Tuscarawas County hosts this event yearly and last night the wife and I headed out there to check it out.  We had never been there before so we weren't sure what to expect.  What we found was a great community festival with, of course, lots of food choices, rides, music and wine and cheese tasting.  For me, the highlight was the apple fritters which were little fried slices of apple goodness.  If you go, get some.  Trust me.  The festival only runs Friday and Saturday, so hopefully your reading this on Saturday and get some time to get out there!

Back to Ingenuity

Yesterday we ventured back up to the Port of Cleveland to take in all of the wonders that awaited us the Ingenuity Cleveland 2013.  A festival of art, music and technology.  Like last year, it was a feast for the senses.  Our friends from Rust Belt Monster Collective, (voted BEST local artists for 2013 by the readers of the Cleveland Scene magazine), were there once again doing live art for all to enjoy.  The  goal for the RBMC, paint a giant mural based on a theme.  This years theme was clouds.  These talented artists do this a lot.  Check them out on Facebook for when they appear locally.
But the big excitement for us was to be able to see the Voix de Ville Tent.   As stated on their Facebook page, "Voix de Ville tent is Clevelands Cabaret, the imaginarium of vaudeville, musical extravaganza ,theatrical mayhem and curiosities!! In a tiny circus tent!"  It was fantastic.  Be sure to like them on Facebook to find out where they are going to set up and perform.  You really haven't experienced anything like this before and it's a lot of fun.  So glad the weather cleared up in the evening so the Tesla Orchestra could perform as well.  I love the smell of ozone.

If you have the chance next year to go.  Go.  See and support the local arts.

Here's just some of the pictures I took during the event.  All of them can be found here.
