Lake View Cemetery

What better to do in October then to visit an old cemetery.   Yesterday we went up to Cleveland's near east side and checked out Lake View Cemetery.  This historic site houses the monument to and crypt of former president James A. Garfield as well as other notables. (Check out the above link for a list.)
A really interesting, gothic-esq place.  But no Zombies.  Oh well.

The Gorge!

Yesterday, the girls and I headed north to Akron to explore The Gorge, which is part of the Summit County metro parks.  I hadn't been up there in years and am wondering why now.  It it beautiful and provides a great place for taking pictures and hiking.  I'm still feeling it in the legs today ;-)
This is one place that I will be visiting again and again.

Color in the backyard

Was playing with HDR again tonight.  Liked the result plus the other one full of reds and orange.

Sunday in the park

One of my favorite places on Earth is Cuyhoga Valley National Park. Forged thousands of years ago by glaciers and the Cuyahoga River, this place is a well preserved natural playground between Cleveland and Akron Ohio. And on a beautiful fall day with no clouds and near 80 degree temps, it was worth the drive.
*Update*
I also decided that yesterday was going to be the 50mm challenge!  I used nothing by my 50mm lens and no zooms.  I'm pretty happy with how things turned out.

The color has begun

It's begun. As if the lack of light in the morning going to work wasn't clue enough. Fall is in full swing. The color has started and will be gone before we know it.

Take 2 - Christmas in Zoar 2010

As the cold and rainy weekend continues and I wasn't able to get out and take new pictures, I continue to go through older one.  Here's a couple that I really like from last years Christmas in Zoar.  Only 83 days left until Christmas this year!

Looking back on Fall 2010

Well, we've had our first cold and rainy weekend of fall. So what better to do then work on some old pictures and make them look better. At least to me. Enjoy!
