Looking back at Zoar Civil War 2011

It's a dark and stormy night here in Ohio as Hurricane Sandy throws wind and rain closer to us.  So while I still have power, I decided to work on some pictures tonight. Tonight's target of rework, the Civil War reenactment from Zoar in 2011.

Just in time for the holidays! I'm selling prints!

One of the projects I've been thinking about for a while has been to create a calendar for 2013 based on images of Zoar that I've taken over the past couple of years.  Now there are a lot of places out there to accomplish the task, but after a recommendation from my graphic artist friend Craig, I decided to go with Redbubble as the provider.  So without further ado, please feel free to visit my Redbubble site for a selection of images that I like best as well as the Zoar 2013 calendar!

A walk in the Park: Part 2 - CVNP 10/21/2012

Spent a little more time tonight looking though the pictures I took yesterday.  Really love going to this place.

A walk in the Park - CVNP 10/21/2012

We decided to head up to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park today to explore the Blue Hen Falls area.  If you have never been there, I highly recommend it.  Back in my post high school days, I went out there several times to explore. Situated behind and actually between the Boston Mills Ski Resort, the falls are an accessible area, but, can be a little bit of a tricky hike if you go past the Blue Hen Falls.  You see, past Blue Hen is another waterfall called Buttermilk Falls which is actually much more impressive to see.  But, your feet will likely get wet crossing over the stream several times to get to the falls.  Funny thing is, I don't remember the hike back to that area being that hard.  But my 43 year old knees are feeling it tonight. I would like to try to find out some of the history of the area.  Just before we got to Buttermilk Falls, we came across some old ruins of some type.  Probably an old mill or something, but would still be neat to find out.  Here's some images of a beautiful fall day at the falls.
